Left-wing media LIES: No, the NRA did not “train” the Florida school shooter

The so-called “mainstream media” isn’t even trying to be unbiased and impartial anymore. In fact, in the age of Trump, the American Pravda media has shed any pretense of being fair or even honest, let alone fulfill its basic role of keeping the American people informed.

This pathetic abdication of responsibility was on full display once again this past week when outlet after outlet blatantly lied about the National Rifle Association in an effort to push their endless gun control agenda following another tragic shooting at a U.S. school, this time in Florida.

As reported by The Daily Caller, Exhibit A was the far-Left New York Daily News, which published a story with this screeching headline: “TRAINED BY THE NRA.” The story attempted to blame the gun-rights group for “training” admitted shooter Nikolas Cruz.

The DC reported:

The Daily News cited an Associated Press report in its misleading article, but without providing additional context that undercuts the idea that Cruz was “trained” by the NRA.

Instead, Cruz was a member of the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program at Stoneman Douglas High School, where [last week’s] shooting took place.

These JROTC programs are in operation at more than 1,700 high schools around the country and are not sponsored by the NRA; they’re sponsored by the U.S. Army.

Also, the Daily News and other Pravda media did not inform readers that the FBI admitted on Friday the bureau did not act on a tip in January from someone who told the FBI’s tip line that Cruz was telling those around him of his “desire to kill people.”

Vox, an outlet that is part of the Marxist media echo chamber, chimed in with a story bearing this headline: “Nikolas Cruz was reportedly on an NRA-funded rifle team in high school.” The site reported:

Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old suspect charged with murdering 17 people with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle at a Florida high school on Wednesday had been a member of a competitive shooting club at the school that received a donation from the NRA.

Think Progress, a far-Left website affiliated with equally Marxist Center for American Progress, published a story with this headline: “The NRA donated $10,000 to help train the Parkland shooting suspect to use a rifle.”

As part of the Stoneman Douglas’ JROTC program, Cruz competed in air rifle marksmanship matches with other schools. “He was a very good shot,” Aaron Diener, a teammate of Cruz’s, told the AP, which also reported that the NRA gave $2.2 million in cash and cash grants to schools in 2016. Stoneman Douglas received a $10,827 non-cash grant as part of the program, the newswire reported further.

But all of this information is circumstantial at best; there is no evidence to support the allegation that the NRA actually “trained” Cruz or any JROTC members. (Related: PSYCH DRUG SHOOTERS: Florida school shooter “was on medication,” reports Miami Herald, just like nearly all other mass shooters.)

What makes this breathless lying reporting even worse is that the Daily News and others leave out other crucial information — such as some of the grants that were paid to Stoneman Douglas were used to buy Kevlar curtains that were actually used during Cruz’s attack to protect children.

Should we also ban Kevlar curtains?

As the AP even acknowledged:

Colton Haab, a second lieutenant and platoon leader in the school’s JROTC, told The Associated Press that he helped usher about 90 students into the room where cadets train with pellet rifles. Haab moved the Kevlar sheets used as a backdrop for target practice away from the wall and told everyone to hide behind them. As it was, the shooter never approached the ROTC rooms.

He commented: “So I think the NRA actually bonused us in a way.”

The ‘mainstream media’ has abandoned its constitutional and historical role as informers; it now plays the role of Marxist agitator. If you want to read some truth everyday, go bookmark Censored.news and check the site throughout the day.
